Negative Space - Pilot "Into the Collabyrinth" from Jenny Bee on Vimeo.

Through the power of group projects and bad 80’s animation, can two art students overcome the obstacles of creative collaboration? Or are they doomed to a life of repeating courses and missed opportunities for radical friendships?

Negative Space is a mockumentary pilot, with more episodes in the works.

Written, directed, edited, motion graphicked by Jenny Bee
Produced by Fatchix Films
Starring Kyle Levenick, Kayte Zhang, and Dennis Pacheco

Negative Space was a perfect glitterstorm of collaboration, complete with exhibition building, animation-emulating, online-internet-community-faking, VHS-wizardry, and probably 80s-inspired madness. I loved it and would do it all ten more times.

The final thesis film was transferred onto a VHS tape for the exhibition with the help of Ethan Gould. Here's a shot of a manufactured 80s cartoon for the film, inspired by He-Man and Jem and other such heavily rotoscoped cartoons, animated by Dasha Prosyannikova with backgrounds by Dani Lozada.

Secret Fable of the Last Neon Star Hero Fighter (in Radical Technicolor) Playthrough from Jenny Bee on Vimeo.

A playthrough of a fictional (but actually made) video game created for Secret Fable of the Last Neon Star Hero Fighter (in Radical Technicolor)

The game can be played HERE!

An argument I staged between two of my professors, well-known comics individuals to have on their social media platforms, about the existence of Secret Fable of the Last Neon Star Hero Fighter (in Radical Technicolor), and a photoshopped ebay listing for a poster for the fake television show, because there is no end to this rabbit hole.
